After departing Glenbard High, I attended Northwest Missouri State University and believe it or not, I got a teaching degree in industrial technology. Taught a year in Kansas City, but decided bullets were easier than junior high kids. Uncle Sam took me on and sent me to Korea. Just before Korea, I made a stop over in the Colorado High Country and met my first and only wife, Peggy.

After the service, we ventured to an island on Rainy Lake, Minnesota on the Canadian border. Rather large lake and we got lost in the woods for 15 years. Owned and operated an old millionaire's estate as a corporate fishing resort. I was crazy enough to go into a partnership with Ralph Sprovier in a mainland pub. Definitely fun time, but short lived. He headed back to the big city while Peggy and I stayed for another 10 years running the restaurant along with the resort.

In 1985, we vacationed in the Colorado High Country again. Decided it was time for a change, sold out and moved to Estes Park, Colorado. Over the years we developed commercial buildings and play landlord teaching people how to change light bulbs and flush toilets. I also continue to pursue my lifelong passion of woodworking; from building furniture to woodturning on the lathe.

We've been married 35 years now and have two married sons. One in computers in Seattle, the other is a civil engineer. We enjoy traveling with them from zip lines in Costa Rica to jet boating in New Zealand. Next stop Honduras. I'm not sure where they went wrong, but there are no grandkids yet.
